Email Money Transfer (EMT)
What is it?
Email Money Transfers (EMT) are bank debit payments which transfer funds directly between major Canadian banks. The funds are not actually sent by email - your financial information is securely processed by your bank and is never revealed to the merchant.
It’s a safe alternative to using cheques or cash, since no personal or financial information is shared. Quite simply, you can send money to anyone with an email address and a bank account in Canada.

What do I need?
To send an EMT, you need access to online banking at a participating financial institution. Transaction fees may apply (consult your bank).
